Logos

Whether you’re a research team, institute or a biotech startup, a tailored logo and branding can help your science to stand out in your field and beyond. Let it speak your values with clarity and confidence !

Logo Cyclochondria

The Cyclochondria lab, headed by Dr.Bertolin, is part of the IGDR institute (Rennes). The lab is exploring how the very diverse functions of the mitochondria are orchestrated during the cell cycle. The use of fluorescence microscopy and next-generation imaging enables them to visualize these events from organelle to tissue. For the logo, the combination “mitochondria/cell cycle/microscopy” had to be dynamically represented, which led to this final blue monochrome design figuring all the three elements in a concentric way.

Logo BINGO

BINGO (for Biology In silico for Non coding Genome and Oncology) is a young lab emerging at the IGDR in Rennes, focusing on the roles of long non coding RNAs in tumor heterogeneity through cell genetic and epigenetic regulations. The logo had to reflect the central role of Computational Biology in integrating multimodal data issued from experimental and clinical Biology.

Logo Nemyo

A logo designed in collaboration with the team « Degeneration and plasticity of the locomotor system » (HealthFex UNIT,  Paris). The team investigates two severe neurodegenerative diseases: Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Their research is divided into 3 axes:
1. The study of neuromuscular development and plasticity
2. The effects of physical exercise in mouse models of ALS and SMA
3. The function of the SMN complex in the nucleus

The idea for the logo was to represent the relationship between the motor neuron and the muscle fibers. Here, the interface is symbolized showing the neuron (in negative blue) and the muscle (in dark red), not forgetting the Cajal bodies accumulating in the nucleus.

Logo Paris RNA Club

The Paris RNA club gathers labs in Paris working on, or around, RNA Biology, to promote discussions and networking through seminars. The logo had to be reminiscent of both Paris and RNAs elements, hence the Eiffel tower built by structured RNAs.

Logo TErBIO

The TErBIO team (for Transgenerational Epigenetics and small RNA biology, see their website here) is hosted by the Institut of Biology Paris Seine (IBPS) in Paris. They study two axes of RNA Biology: the role of small RNAs in the regulation of Transposable Elements, and the importance of RNA modifications in the process. Their model system are Drosophila and human cells.

Creating a new logo, I wanted to (1) simplify the pre-existing logo, (2) reference the two research lines of the lab (small RNAs and RNA modifications, here discreetly depicted by the yellow additions to the letters) and (3) make the team’s name stand out more clearly.
